What is a Olla?
An Ancient way to preserve water orientating from Northern Africa and also used by other Indigenous cultures of the world for over 4000 years ago. A Olla or wet pots, irrigation pitchers, irrigation pots is an unglazed ceramic clay pot, fired at a low temperature. The pots pores allow water to slowly seep though to the plants roots. This way the plants take only what they need, no more worrying about over watering, runoff or under watering your plants.
How can a Olla Conserver water?
Ollas conserves 50-75% on water use. The Olla only needs to be filled about every 3-5 days.
How to use Ollas?
Dig hole into ground or pot, bury the Olla Irrigation pot only exposing the neck.
Put your seeds or plants around the olla, it and fill it with water. The watering radius is based on the size of the Olla.
The pots pores allows water to slowly seep though directly to the plants roots. This way the plants takes only what they need, no more worrying about over watering or under water your plants. Great for Moringa trees that can get root rot quickly.
